Create a functional wooden tray finished with 23K gold leaf under the guidance of Kyoto master craftspeople from Yamamura. Participants will learn adhesive application, gold leaf handling with bamboo tools, and final finishing techniques. Not advised for those with nut allergies due to cashew lacquer. A limited number of tickets will be available for purchase on-site, along with exclusive pieces from the vendor.

Kinpaku-oshi YAMAMURA Co., Ltd. (株式会社 金箔押山村)
Since 1949, Kinpaku-oshi YAMAMURA Co., Ltd. (株式会社 金箔押山村) has specialized in the gilding of gold leaf on Kyoto Buddhist altars and participated in restoration work for renowned temples and national treasures across Japan. Using a hand-applied technique passed down since 1185, gold leaf was applied with urushi lacquer through years of dedicated training, preserving one of Kyoto’s most intricate craft traditions.

Entrance & Check-in
The entrance to all Casa Kyoto workshops can be found inside the lobby of our 5-story Office Tower.
Make sure to arrive 10-15 minutes before your scheduled workshop session. All patrons will visit the check-in table, located outside of the entrance of the building, so please have your e-ticket(s) with QR code ready.
