Ikenobo Ikebana Society of Los Angeles presents Flower Arrangement Exhibition at JACCC.
Ikebana is one of the traditional arts of Japan. The Japanese characters for Ikebana literally mean “living flowers” and are the Japanese art of flower arrangement. Also known as Kado (“the way of flowers”), ikebana is considered one of the meditative art forms in Japan.
Ikenobo has been developing its philosophy and skills and handed them down from generation to generation. The Ikenobo Ikebana Society of Los Angeles is one of the largest societies outside of Japan with over 300 members. The purpose of the society is to foster an appreciation of Ikenobo Ikebana. There are over 20 active teachers in the Los Angeles area teaching classes, giving demonstrations, and holding exhibitions throughout the year.
