The Los Angeles Chapter of Ikenobo Ikebana is one of the largest chapters outside of Japan with over 300 members. The purpose of the chapter is to foster an appreciation of Ikenobo Ikebana. There are over 20 active teachers in the Los Angeles area teaching classes, giving demonstrations, and holding exhibitions throughout the year. There is usually some Ikenobo event being held each month.
Ikebana is one of the traditional arts of Japan. The Japanese characters for Ikebana literally mean “living flowers” and are the Japanese art of flower arrangement. Also known as Kado (“the way of flowers”), ikebana is considered one of the meditative art forms in Japan.
