Listening Session + Album Introduction
Join us in the James Irvine Japanese Garden for an intimate vinyl listening event celebrating the release of Sounds of Taiwan. The album features field recordings captured by legendary Taiwanese artist Lim Giong, interpreted by artists into dreamy soundscapes that reflect the island’s nature, history, and spirituality.
The evening will begin with a short introduction to the album and its field recordings, offering context to help guide a more intentional and connected listening experience.
Live Performance
Featuring No Translation, a Taiwanese American artist featured on the album, performing selections inspired by the project.
All-Taiwanese Vinyl DJ Set
Angie QQ will share a DJ set drawn from her collection of rare Taiwanese folk and pop records. Her mixes — archived on NTS and Dublab — explore the deep textures of Taiwan’s musical past.
This event is presented by JACCC, Pure Person Press, and In Sheep’s Clothing.
Bar + Food
Enjoy our cash-free bar* with select Japanese whiskey, beer, and wine by JACCC. Additionally, we will present a selection of small bites for purchase throughout the evening.
