Join an evening of music for a cause! On Saturday, May 17th at 7 p.m., 200 performers will
unite for a powerful performance of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 at the Aratani Theatre in
downtown Los Angeles. Tickets are available for free and donations are welcome at holaio.org.
Professional and amateur instrumentalists and vocalists from Los Angeles and Orange County
are coming together to support musicians who have lost their homes and need financial
assistance due to the Los Angeles Fire. Thanks to the generous support of Heart of Los
Angeles and The Eisner Foundation, 100% of the proceeds from donations will go directly to
LA-based instrumentalists and singers in need. Donations will be collected and distributed by
two trusted nonprofit organizations: the American Guild of Musical Artists Foundation and the
Guitar Center Foundation.
The Heart of Los Angeles Eisner Intergenerational Orchestra has been preparing for this annual
concert since January, featuring Beethoven's Symphony No. 9. However, when the LA Fire
broke out, many musical colleagues reached out to Daniel Suk, the orchestra's artistic director,
expressing their sadness and asking, 'How can we help our fellow musicians in need?' In
response, Daniel reached out to Tony Brown, the CEO of Heart of Los Angeles, to discuss the
possibility of turning the orchestra’s annual concert into a benefit performance to support those
affected. Tony immediately gave the green light to the idea. Now, the concert has brought
together 100 instrumentalists and 100 professional vocalists from all over Los Angeles and
Orange County to contribute to this meaningful performance.
Performers include The Eisner Intergenerational Orchestra, members of the LA Opera Chorus,
members of the LA Master Chorale, members of the Los Angeles Dream Orchestra, and
professional musicians from Los Angeles and Orange County.
