Experience the spirit of Kyushu through the exquisite, handcrafted creations of YOKA, founded by Sachiyo “Sachi” Itabashi. Specializing in rare finds from Japan’s southern island, Sachiyo curates thoughtful, high-quality goods that highlight the region’s deep traditions and artisanal excellence, offerings rarely found outside of Kyushu itself.
This special two-day pop-up marks YOKA’s final appearance in Los Angeles before Sachiyo relocates to London and pauses both her pop-ups and online shop. It’s a heartfelt send-off and a last opportunity to explore YOKA’s one-of-a-kind selection of home goods, accessories, and lifestyle treasures, all sourced directly from local makers and family businesses.
Whether you’re a longtime YOKA fan or discovering Kyushu craftsmanship for the first time, this is your chance to support regional artisans and bring a piece of their legacy home with you.
Don’t miss this rare opportunity to shop YOKA’s Kyushu collection in person at MISE 店 — once it’s gone, it’s gone (for now).
YOKA
“Yoka” means “good” in the Kyushu dialect, reflecting the brand’s commitment to sharing the beauty and craftsmanship of Japan’s southern island. Founded by Sachiyo “Sachi” Itabashi, YOKA bridges her two hometowns, Kumamoto in Kyushu, where she was born and raised, and Los Angeles, where she built lasting connections, by bringing thoughtfully curated artisanal goods from Kyushu to international audiences.
Inspired by the community support she witnessed following the 2016 Kumamoto earthquake, Sachiyo launched YOKA to highlight the exceptional work of regional craftspeople and support their family-run businesses. Each item is hand-selected to showcase the region’s artistry, cultural heritage, and sustainable practices.
Through its pop-ups and curated offerings, YOKA aims to foster a “Yoka” cycle between Japan and the world, introducing unique, thoughtfully crafted goods that allow people to experience the spirit of Kyushu in their everyday lives.
