JACCC’s Response to COVID-19

LOS ANGELES, CA

Dear JACCC Family & Community,  

The Japanese American Cultural & Community Center deeply values your health, safety and well-being. 

Just yesterday, Governor Newsom announced new guidelines for the State of California regarding COVID-19.  These guidelines include respecting social distancing practices by providing 6 feet of space between individuals and the avoidance of group events with more than 50 people. With these guidelines in mind, JACCC is cancelling current programs until further notice. In addition, please note that JACCC will practice social distancing and encourage our community to also follow the newest guidelines which ask that anyone with a chronic condition, and everyone over 65 years of age, to self-isolate.  

Our Center Building will continue to remain open for our tenants, but all large gatherings and meetings where social distancing is not practical should be postponed, cancelled, or converted to virtual meetings. Tenants are encouraged to follow social distancing guidelines when in the building and on the campus. JACCC will continue to provide increased cleaning of all high touchpoint and public spaces in the Center Building, and we encourage everyone to wash their hands frequently throughout the day.

JACCC staff is continuing to monitor this rapidly evolving situation. We are currently working with tenants, artistic and rental partners, and Community Members across our multiple spaces and projects to find the best solutions for all. If you are a tenant, ticketed patron, or contracted rental partner, we will be contacting you directly for next steps.

In these challenging times, your ongoing support of JACCC is deeply appreciated and vital.  We encourage everyone to stay calm, informed and prepared.
